Least we forget in October of 1983, 241 United States Marines were killed by terrorist as they sat in barracks in Beirut, Lebanon.
Caspar Weinberger, President Reagan's Defense Secretary stated the following communication account with the Commander-in-Chief. "I implored the President to put the Marines, serving in Beirut, in a safer place before they were attacked. Our Marines had no mission, I begged the President to pull back and be in a more defensible position." The President did not heed the pleas and the rest is tragic history.
The most Marines ever killed in service was in the World War II battle of Iwo Jima...the second greatest number of Marines killed sat in Beirut barracks lightly armed that October day in 1983.
So much for that bit of Reagan legacy, what's the lastest on Hilary Clinton's emails regarding Benghazi?
