I wish the current field of GOP Presidential candidates would be honest about their beloved Ronald Reagan when holding him up as some impeccable staunch leader.
For example: It is true that the Americans held hostages by Iran for several months into 1980, were indeed released the first day of Reagan's Presidency but the signing of the agreed release accord was done a day earlier...President Carter was still Commander in Chief. Therefore, Mister Carpet Bomber, Ted Cruz, who suggest Reagan had some thumb print on the release is wrong. Cruz needs to take a high school history refresher course.
And just for the record, the Iran-Contra Affair happened in 1985. The American Congress was unaware of Ronald Reagan's administration entering into an unauthorized weapons exchange deal with Iran in hopes they would persuade Hezbollah to release American hostages being held in Lebanon. Additionally, Reagan denied twice that he knew anything about the scandalous activities but later admitted that his administration was responsible. Therefore, this question: Was Ronnie such a giant of a leader or was he clueless as to what the hell his subordinates were doing?
Reagan was a good and decent man but he sure the hell made his share of Presidential mistakes and he was not Superman, therefore Cruz and Rubio, Please stop with the campaign bull crap.
