There's a Reason We Play The Games

Grandson, Connor O'Keefe is a student at Indiana University. For several years, come NCAA Men's basketball tournament, Connor has put together a pool-bracket that eventually results in the winner receiving $500.00.

This morning, my daughter Dawn telephoned to tell me that after Thursday and Friday games, Connor's thirteen year old sister, Alexa is in first place while Connor is dead last. Alexa has never watched one minute of college basketball and she could not 'name' any college players or coaches. Alexa is a lot like her eighteen year old sister, Kaitlyn who left Wrigley Field after a baseball game and asked me, "Did the Blackhawks win?"

Of course, when a group of bank employees (UMBC) put together a team and soundly beat Number One rated Virginia in the first round it can certainly make all tourney prognosticators look ill-informed...but not Alexa.
