Yesterday morning while getting a physical therapy treatment for ongoing chronic back issues, I overheard one therapist tell her co-worker that she felt her co-worker had "got up on the wrong side of the bed" and consequently was sending out negative vibes. She went on to explain that she does not like to be around negative energies. An interesting exchange took place.
I know many quotes are attributed to Abraham Lincoln and I believe this one is spurious but none-the-less a terrific commentary: 'Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be." Although the great orator did not say that...it does not alter the fact that the ball called 'happiness' is in the court of each individual.
For several years I truly embrace and enjoyed the opportunity to travel this State and many places across the nation to share various messages with 'athletic families.' One favorite presentation was entitled "The Wish vs. The Will." In that message I attempted to point out the many ways we differ from each other while emphasizing the fact that we all 'wish' for hints but few 'will' things to happen in their lives. I also point out that our own power of positive thinking is critical to our happiness and success. I close by asking the audience to accept my 'Post it Challenge.' Place a 'post it' on the bathroom mirror with this inscription: "10:00AM." This will serve as a morning reminder every day, that you are going to be the most positive, pleasant and engaging individual until 10:00AM and then you're going to stop. Truth is...if you begin a day one way it becomes difficult to change. How will you begin this day?
