I've said it for years and it is more true today than ever; our nation needs more women in governing leadership roles. Perhaps the #MeToo Movement will finally give the impetus, that final nudge for a nation to awaken to a better option...women 'running the show.'
Predominately, white men have 'been in charge' of our government since its inception and we all agree that government is a mess if not totally incompetent and corrupt. As the good Dr. Phil McGraw bemoans, "You can't keep doing the same thing over and over and expect different results." We need to turn away from men in our governing leadership roles and turn to women to take the reigns.
The perdonerance of research studies suggest that females enjoy a higher academic success rate in middle school and high school. Girls also score higher (overall) in standardized academic testing. If you are worried about leadership skills fear not; a 2014 Forbes Magazine article chronicles a leadership study, which clearly gives the nod to women for making better corporate leaders than do men. When the question 'why?' was asked, the answer frequently offered was 'women must work twice as well to be seen half as good as men.'
Time to make a 'pitching change!'
