Yesterday morning during a second cup of coffee, my wife looked up from her USA Today newspaper and proclaimed, "This makes absolutely no sense!" She continued, "The Atlantic 10 Conference has 14 teams; the Big 12 Conference has 10 teams and the Big 10 Conference has 14 teams!" As she stared at me expecting an explanation, I said, "It does not have to make sense; it falls under the higher education domain."
Let's face it, those (league) team numbers change rapidly as conference realignments follow the (TV) money.
